With a focus on precision and cost-effectiveness, our mission is to transform the landscape of Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis and improve patient care while reducing societal costs. AD is a significant burden to the public, affecting one in six individuals and imposing a staggering &amp;pound;34.7 billion annual cost to the UK economy. The lack of a simple, singular diagnostic tool and personalized treatment plan, coupled with late-stage detection, underscores the pressing need for innovative solutions.

The proposed project aims to clinically validate a ground breaking multi-analyte plasma biomarker assay, the Esya multi-analyte assay. This pioneering diagnostic test detects five pathophysiological biomarkers crucial for AD assessment: beta-Amyloid 1-42 (A), beta-Amyloid 1-40 (A), p-tau181 (T), GFAP (N) and NfL (N). Combining these biomarkers enables the derivation of an AD likelihood score, thereby assisting physicians in their diagnostic evaluations for AD and distinguishing it from other type of dementias.

The Esya multi-analyte assay device heralds a new era in blood-based diagnostics, offering a comprehensive and alternate platform for doctors to conduct an &amp;quot;A/T/N&amp;quot; assessment of AD directly from plasma samples and distinguishing AD from other conditions that present similar symptoms but have different underlying pathophysiologies. The full automation, high throughput capability, and blood-based technology of the Esya multi-analyte assay enhances diagnostic capabilities and reduces the likelihood of misdiagnoses. Our technology empowers patients by granting them access to medical benefits, enhancing emotional and social well-being, and facilitating future planning. The Esya multi-analyte assay guides primary care physicians in determining the optimal secondary care specialist for each patient. This personalized matching ensures that the most suitable treatment plan is implemented, further improving patient outcomes.

The proposed project is dedicated to developing an innovative diagnostic solution for Alzheimer's disease that leverages cutting-edge biomarker detection and automation.
