Health monitoring of wind turbine blades is traditionally carried out by people or robots. Apart from being expensive and risky, large volumes of data are gathered which are not effectively investigated as the existing analytical methods do not provide sufficient information. In many cases the outcome is ineffective.

With the current systems, faults may be discovered during the inspection processes, but what's behind them often isn't. As a result, reports are prepared without knowing the extent of the damage below the surface, which is critical to the life assessment procedure.

Our solution:

Crack Map is developing a solution capable of determining the extent of defects and depth of damages based only on visual surface inspection. Our software provides a map with the precise locations of all existing defects and estimates the remaining life of the component or structure with great detail and accuracy, all without any need for physical contact.

Our Technology:

•Combines Fracture mechanics with Artificial Intelligence to provide the extent of damage below the surface.

•Creates 3D model of the structure with the exact map of damages and their associated severity.

•Accessible as both cloud-based platform and standalone software.

•Can be used as a tool for both decommissioning and archiving.

Benefits:

•Using our efficient and affordable, cloud-based software, you can instantly generate a detailed, 3D model of an affected area, or item of equipment, all within a single file, compatible with other commercial software packages.

•Our process allows you to identify faults and problems in large, industrial settings up to thirty times faster than traditional inspection methods.

•By automating expensive and time-consuming tasks, you can instantly improve your organisation's operational efficiency, reduce costs, and minimise the risk of workplace injuries.

•Crack Map's platform also resolves the challenges with data handling and archiving.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
