The project will create real-time digital twins of nature-based carbon assets across terrestrial and blue carbon for monitoring biomass, detecting degradation, and tracking carbon sequestration from cradle to grave with unprecedented accuracy and transparency.

Carbon credits play a vital role in the global fight against climate change, but their credibility is often undermined by outdated, manual monitoring and unverifiable claims. The BTrace project will tackle this head-on by enabling continuous, auditable, and standards-compliant monitoring through AI, giving buyers, investors, and certifiers confidence in every tonne of carbon credited, exemplifying trusted, responsible, and commercially scalable use of AI.

The project is funded by Innovate UK and led by UK start-up Teqnovia Limited, with a cutting-edge AI digital twin solutions provider as a specialist subcontractor.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
