The UK government has mandated the capture of 30 million tonnes of CO2 by 2030 and this is contributing to a global market predicted to be worth over $1 trillion by 2050\.

Nellie is a carbon dioxide removal (CDR) technology, sequestering CO2 directly from the air. Through the developments within this project we will also offer CDR directly from the emission point sources of industrial sites.

We have developed a bioengineered carbon removal system using a proprietary photobioreactor (PBR) with a microalgal feedstock. We have patented IP in the novel combination of organic and inorganic additives and the invention of a mechanical product and environmental management system that increases the efficiency of the PBR past state of the art.

Our PBR system provides an efficient and scalable solution for carbon removal. Compared to conventional methods, Nellie's approach is more sustainable and resource-efficient, allowing us to meet growing demand at a lower cost while maximising carbon removal.

We're dedicated to leading the market with technology that not only removes CO2 but also generates high value materials like biochar and biogenic aggregates for use in the feed, fuel, and fertiliser industries. The combination of our core CDR technology and these adjacent revenue streams increases sustainability, minimises waste, maximises resources, and delivers co-benefits and value for our customers and us.

Our technology is modular and scalable, meaning we can integrate our PBRs with each other to maximise carbon removal within a small physical space. We currently have an operational site in South Wales that removes 100T per annum.

We have secured our first commercial sale from Zurich Insurance, validating the commercial viability of our technology and the growing demand for scalable and efficient CDR solutions. Building on this momentum we will reach new potential customers by developing custom-built point-source-capture for industrial emission, and incorporating this new CORC and revenue stream into our prior, robust commercial strategy.

In this project we will convert our technology to a point-source-capture system that attaches to the flue gas emissions of 7 Steel's electric arc furnace. Doing so will have the combined benefits of decarbonising steel production, and removing pollutants from the atmosphere including heavy metals Cr, Ni, Zn, and Pb, and GHGs CO, SOx, NOx, and CO2, for the benefit of human, environmental, and climatic health.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
