For home-owners who have access to cheap or free heat (such as from roof-top solar photovoltaic panels), excess energy can be stored as hot water in the tank for later use, even if you have a combi boiler at home. This method offers faster, greener and cheaper hot water as drawing hot water from a tank means burning less natural gas in the combi boiler.
