Providing 10X power increases over commercial state-of-art, the project will develop novel optical fibres and MegaWatt, pulsed high-power lasers that will uniquely position UK manufacturing at the forefront of high-growth laser-cleaning markets.

The HALIDE project will demonstrate ability to deliver power and pulse energy performance at eye-safe laser wavelengths that are comparable to existing 1064nm (none-eye-safe) laser-cleaning tool sources.

The project will further demonstrate ability to achieve cost-parity for 15xxnm lasers with existing 1064nm systems but developing volume-manufacturing processes for Erbium-doped fibres.

The project partners will demonstrate this ability through building a compact, portable, eye-safe laser-cleaning tool technology demonstrator to potential customers and investors.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
