(FreshCheck) is a UK food hygiene SME with a core project team of Alex Bond (Project Lead), John Simpson (Technical Lead) and Melis Ekinci (Head of Science). FreshCheck is solving a significant unmet need by developing an affordable and simple-to-use colour-change handwipe that will detect surface contaminants and help verify/ensure hygiene. The solution will especially benefit SME food businesses that find it difficult to meet the hygiene standards/attain high food safety ratings required to access large food contracts (e.g. manufacturing for a supermarket chain) and address the public's awareness of hygiene and cleaning standards. The solution will be environmentally friendly and help reduce plastic usage resulting from current tools.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
