This project aims at accelerating the development and deployment of a trusted and responsible Machine Learning & Computer Vision solution, OSCAR CV that can detect early signs of turf diseases and weeds, and identify various turf species, from imagery, to benefit the sports turf industry as a whole.

Within this 3-month feasibility study project (phase 1), E-Nano is proposing to develop a proof of concept for OSCAR CV to use as a demonstrator and encourage the building of a large consortium to accelerate the development and deployment of the solution within the sports industry at a later stage (phase 2).

A lightweight and portable version of E-Nano's current lightbox system will be produced (OSCAR CV hardware prototype) that can easily be handled by potential end-users to collect a variety of good-quality turf images from their facilities.

From previous discussions with E-Nano's end-users, it is believed OSCAR CV solution could benefit a large panel of the sports industry value chain, from turf farms, seeds and turf management solution suppliers to sports organisations/venues (football, golf, horse racing, tennis) and agronomic consultants.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
