During an MSc in Sustainable Development, I examined the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on Bristol students, setting up '50 _Ways To Cook'_ in response. This enterprise is on a mission to nurture people and planet through food.

With 84% of UK citizens residing in urban environments, these spaces have become nature-depleted and vast waste producers. We are more disconnected from nature and our food system than ever. Therefore, we must learn to live in these spaces, regenerating them to be climate resilient and agriculturally productive. '50 _Ways To Cook'_ inspires and empowers people to become active citizens, championing the vital shift to a circular economy through food.

The need for innovative food education, underlined by the NFS, motivates my work. Unlike existing workshops focusing on single topics, my work fills a critical gap by addressing various challenges in a fun and engaging way. With the award's support, I will significantly improve the speed of development, scale of delivery, and impact of my _'Circular Food'_ workshop series.

Although the term _'Circular Food'_ is novel, it is backed by the UKRI, AgriFood4NetZero Network, and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. Interactive workshops will comprehensively explore the food system - from production, consumption, food 'waste' upcycling, and circling back to production.

I will invest in a food 'waste' tumbler, wormery, and bokashi bins to deliver more impactful _'Circular Food'_ workshops. These engage and encourage people to shift attitudes and behaviours around food waste while addressing food security, access to nature, and soil carbon storage. They will also address food waste and fossil-fuel-derived pesticide and fertiliser use. This aligns with UK net zero targets through developing innovative behaviour change strategies.

These workshops are innovative through their grounding in recent Ellen MacArthur Foundation-backed research. I have developed these workshops from my unique background in primary education, workshop facilitation, and academia. They are the next step towards realising my _'Circular Food Hub'_ project, a physical community space to nurture people and the planet through food.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
