of future UK based innovation & economic growth. HMRC’s flagship tax incentive
investment schemes Enterprise Investment Scheme & Seed EIS (SEIS) have become crucial
in the promotion of UK SME funding by providing investment lead tax incentives to High Net
worth Individuals (HNIs).
EIS/SEIS have seen continued growth in recent years but the extent of this growth has been
constrained as Independent Financial Advisors (IFA) have shied away from EIS/SEIS due to:
High risk liability; Lower economic incentives; Complex paper based systems; and lack of
EIS system knowledge. Constraints have led to the significant under-utilisation of EIS/SEIS
by HNIs resulting in missed opportunities for HNI tax breaks, UK SME investment & job
creation.
Kuber seek to address the market opportunity of reducing costs, time, difficulty & compliance
boundaries when investing EIS/SEIS schemes. To date Kuber has developed &launched an
alpha prototype of KuberView (KVW) - a novel, web-based (paperless), dedicated EIS/SEIS
multi-manager platform which has shown clear potential in addressing cost & time with 122
HNIs, 10 fund managers & 42 IFA firms users. Crucially recent user trials have identified
essential end user needs: Investment platform integration: streamline investor process cutting
time/cost; ‘DIY’ EIS tools: enabling HNIs with limited EIS knowledge to select/invest by
themselves; Compliant/secure document storage - mitigate compliance risk & improving
security.
Kuber seek to develop a pre-production prototype of KuberViewPlus (KVW+) in order to
satisfy user need & address KVW limitations. KVW+ represents a step-change advancement
on current EIS/SEIS & KVW processes addressing all current limitations with a number of
innovations presenting a number of tech challenges. Once developed KVW+ will be targeted
at IFAs & HNIs where costs/time savings are considerable. Market entry 2016.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
