That is nine women, mothers, daughters, wives, girlfriends, and friends whose lives are impacted by this disease.

The good news is that 99% of cervical cancers are preventable with simple cervical cancer screening. However, one in three women doesn't attend the cervical screening programme, leading to the highest cervical cancer rates in 20 years, especially for young women, minority ethnic groups, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. That's why we're creating Thyia, a telehealth platform designed to empower women's healthcare and put an end to cervical cancer. With Thyia, women can take control of their cervical health from the comfort of their own homes, with a convenient, comfortable, and personal experience.

Our platform offers several specific and innovative features, including an AI chatbot for patient-led clinical decision support, instruction guides, integrations for sharing results with GPs and the NHS Cervical Screening Management System, referrals for follow-up, clinician video consultations, and education about cervical cancer, HPV, self-testing and vaccination. Our platform is supported by a UKCA-certified swab so women can test themselves. The swab uses laboratory PCR technology, similar to that used for Covid-19 testing, and is clinically proven to have equal sensitivity to a traditional swab.

The smear test hasn't changed since it was introduced in the UK in 1964, and cervical cancer rates are at a 20-year high because of this stagnation. At Thyia, we are passionate about changing this by combining novel technology, rigorous clinical data, and excellent patient support to redesign an outdated and underserved area of women's health. No more stirrups, no more speculums, no one but you. Together, we can make a difference and make cervical cancer a thing of the past.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
