Oven-controlled crystal oscillators (OCXOs) are the most sophisticated and stable types of quartz oscillators. They are used in applications such as telecommunication networks, scientific measurement and space/aerospace systems. OCXOs have a market value of approximately $400m with growth predicted for the next five years.
IQD Frequency Products Limited is a leading manufacturer of quartz-based frequency
devices. We have identified two innovations that will enable us to produce a high frequency OCXO with very low phase noise. We are aiming at a step change in performance over the existing products on the market. This will be a world leading product in a highly competitive global market.
Our key objectives in the project are to prove the concept of a test methodology that will
optimise our manufacturing process and to produce a working model to prove the concept of a new design high frequency OCXO with very low phase noise.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
