EVACSTAC solves the unmet need for the safe evacuation of single-staircase buildings, access points for firefighters, safe refuges for those trapped and retro-fitted sprinkler systems. In contrast to stay-put compartmentation, EVACSTAC's escape tower for medium-sized and high-rise buildings will provide residents with safer evacuation routes and refuges and firefighters with access points. It will also facilitate the cost effective installation of sprinkler systems with minimal disruption to residents. EVACSTAC will help solve the nationwide crisis for fire safety.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
