The medical industry & defence, marine, oil/gas industries have ‘000s of te of x-ray film in storage. There are two types of X-ray film - ‘Traditional’ and ‘Dry View’. Currently there is no method to recover Ag from ‘Dry View’ film other than incineration. ALL such film from UK & EU is sent abroad for incineration, but this is very inefficient (85% Ag recovery) & energy intensive. We have created a new process that can treat all x-ray film types together. We believe we can eliminate the sorting cost, increase yield & eliminate any data security risk, as films can be shredded without separation. Our process should recover virtually 100% of Ag, and so we would provide a much better rebate to our customers including all NHS Trusts. We need an independent expert to perform a technical and economic feasibility study of our lab scale process, before we undertake more extensive research and development. If we can successfully develop and commercialise this technology then we will be able to build a business with multiple revenue streams. A process plant to generate revenue from the recovery of silver from all film types; license revenue from processing licensees operating throughout the EU; royalty revenue from silver recovered; and revenue from plant installations.
