Typically when clients go into a salon to have a treatment done, their contact details and treatment information are written down on a paper record card which is stored at the salon.

The trouble with this is you can't always tell from looking at a card who the client is, which can make being fully prepared for an appointment difficult. Cards have limited writing space, can sometimes go missing, or the stylist forgets or doesn't have time to fill them in. This can make things harder for the stylist when the client returns. Also, when a stylist leaves a salon they no longer have access to the record cards.

I believe this process is outdated so I want to modernise record cards by making them digital.

Each individual stylist will have their own app and their own record cards on their phone, which makes life so much more convenient. The best thing about this is we can now add photos. Even if we can't remember the client by name we have the pictures which is amazing because now we can document the client's hair journey visually.

Other benefits are that stylists will be able to call, text or email clients from the app and it's really helpful to have the option to fill in record cards at home after work as days in the salon can be so busy. The other big advantage is that the stylist will always have access to the clients details and treatments which is invaluable.

I'm a hairdresser with dyslexia and one of the things I struggle with is poor memory. I'm already seeing the benefits from using the app on a daily basis and I can't wait to share it with my fellow stylists. I feel more prepared and I know if it's helping me it can help others too.

In hairdressing we tend to attract lots of people with dyslexia, which is great because they're more creative. I'm passionate about making the app dyslexic-friendly which means choosing particular fonts and colours and keeping the user experience really clear.

I've been in the hair and beauty industry for 30 years and am already loving using the app so I'm really looking forward to developing it into a successful product and business and sharing it with fellow stylists!</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
