This data contains information that is important intelligence for corporations and critical to government and law enforcement agencies.
There is now a pressing demand for a step change in technology that will process this type of data beyond information and into Intelligence – and in real time.
To address this vital need Dexter Intelligence Ltd will undertake a research and development project to test innovative software solutions. The project intends to develop a proof-of-concept that can gather, index, enhance & link intercept data, and provide "real-time” insight allowing intelligence-led, and rapid decision-making.
This Trend and Relationship Analysis and Visualisation on Intercept Streams [TRAVIS]
project will fundamentally address the severe limitations of the current commercial and state tools.
The innovation will overcome the current shortcomings of word driven search centricity,
where the limitation is merely finding what is asked for rather than what is there; finding just
the links that are specifically requested and only operating in off-line batch mode.
The solution will therefore need to process high volumes of largely unstructured data, and this in a real-time, ongoing flow of data rather than a single batch of content.
Any analysis will need to provide immediate answers or variances to the norm and to be able to rapidly provide insight, through a Discovery rather than Search paradigm, whilst continuing to processing incoming data. The dynamic nature and high throughput, will require another essential element - an easy to use and understand dashboard and control panel.
These desired characteristics and performance deliver particular challenges to existing
philosophies, technologies and processes.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
