Ai2 is now researching the antifungal efficacy of the technology to determine the feasibility of development as an antifungal agent. Topical fungal infections are a common and increasing health concern that cause discomfort and distress to patients and can lead to potentially fatal systemic infections. The currently available treatments have significant drawbacks including lengthy treatment time and resistance generation, therefore a more effective agent is needed. This project aims to establish the efficacy of selected peptides against relevant organisms and their safety and compatibility with human tissue. This would result in Ai2 generating a data portfolio that demonstrates the feasibility of developing our technology as an antifungal agent further.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
