Our focus lies on cultivated meat, a viable alternative to industrial meat production that significantly reduces antibiotic usage, land and water consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions.

However, the widespread adoption of cultivated meat depends on achieving price parity with traditional farming methods. This necessitates advancements in cell lines, growth media, bioprocessing, and scaffolds. Among these, the development of cost-effective growth media remains a critical challenge to enable large-scale, affordable commercialisation.

Multus aims to catalyse the profitable scale-up of cultivated meat by developing enabling technology for a booming sector that witnessed private investment double to £1.5bn in 2022. This alternative protein market, valued at £19.5bn and growing at 11.2%, represents a significant opportunity.

To achieve this, our project will develop PRIME, an innovative platform technology designed to rapidly produce costly input ingredients at the low prices demanded by the cultivated meat industry.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
