&amp;quot;Creative Pulse&amp;quot; aims to change how scientific research is communicated by making complex findings accessible to non-specialist audiences. This grant will support the development of a prototype that enables universities to quickly share their research with both industry and the general public.

**Create Growth Programme and Business Growth**

As a creative agency specialising in science communication, we know how to make scientific findings accessible. This innovation extends what we manually do for our clients in the health industry.

This project, shaped during our participation in the Create Growth Programme Cornwall, leverages our expertise in design and publishing. It aligns with the programme's goals to scale businesses through innovation by introducing a new product that will transition our agency from selling project-based services to a SAAS model, creating a new revenue stream through subscriptions. We project a tenfold increase in turnover, expecting &amp;pound;1.3M annually from academic subscriptions by the fifth year. 

**Needs**

Our software will address the time-intensive challenge of making scientific content digestible by reducing the time required to reword, redesign, and visually enhance research papers---streamlining the process from several days to under 30 minutes.

It will boost the productivity of universities and bridge the gap between complex research findings, practical business innovations and an informed community. 

**Target market**

Our target market---academic research---is robust. The UK has 166 higher education institutions (Times HE, 2023) and approximately 153,000 researchers (HE Staff Statistics UK 2022-23) who published 236,145 academic papers in 2022 (UK research base, 2022). The Universities of Plymouth and Exeter are collaborating with us to refine our solution, starting with medical research due to its significant impact and our expertise in this area. 

**Solution and Competition**

Our software will use advanced AI to simplify scientific texts into various designed formats that are more accessible to broader audiences.

It stands out from competitors because it not only simplifies research papers but also provides format options tailored to different user needs (presentation, social media, etc.) and incorporates design elements to improve engagement. 

**Project Outputs**

The primary output is an AI software prototype capable of simplifying and enhancing medical research papers. Key features include an accessibility slider, customisable templates, and various output formats, complemented by editing tools and a feedback loop to refine the model. We will also document our AI model, trademark our brand, and create materials to support commercialisation and attract investment.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
