- Costs of healthcare delivery in UK and worldwide are unsustainable.
- NHS must make annual efficiency savings of &amp;pound;15-20 billion by 2015.
- Over 25% of specialist ophthalmologist (eye specialist) appointments are unnecessary,
wasting &amp;pound;197m/yr.
* How EyePhone project will address the problem:
- This project will conduct R&amp;amp;D to prove the concept of an innovative ophthalmoscope that
clips onto an iPhone and use the iPhone's camera, flash, and software. The iPhone is already
used by majority of GPs and specialists (Aptilon, 2011). Which could result in diagnosis in</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
