It is a fashionable necklace with a pendant which doubles as a vaccination tracker that enables mothers keep track of their children's routine immunisation uptake. Vactraca is an easy to use simple but effective solution which stores children's vaccination information. It complements paper vaccination cards in low income countries and also complements the UK personal child health record book also known as the red book which is used to record a child's growth development and uptake of preventive health services.

A digital version of the vaccination tracker which will not only store vaccination information but store information on children's milestones from birth is being developed and this version 2 of the necklace will be targeted at mothers who live in developed countries. Mothers will be able to store their children's milestones as well as pictures in the wearable vaccination tracker.

During the implementation of the this 6-month project, the team will be carrying out product testing of the first prototype and identifying and testing a tech-enabled version of the vaccination tracking necklace. This product testing will be carried out in partnership with immunisation specialists who have years of experience working for Unicef and the World Health Organization to ensure that all global standard requirements are met.

A wireframe of the digital version of the necklace will be developed by our technology lead who has years of experience developing products for Oracle, Google and Microsoft. During the implementation phase of the project, this wireframe will be tested on a select group of new mothers across the United Kingdom to get feedback which will be used to improve on the product design and to ensure that user experience is prioritised.

At the end of the project cycle, we would have finalised the design of the first version of Vactraca and developed a prototype for the digital version of the necklace.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
