Working closely with national patient charities, doctors, and people who live with rare diseases, Recuperaite is building a unique online community and research tool that puts patients at the heart of every decision. People with rare conditions often feel isolated and spend years searching for the right diagnosis or treatment. Recuperaite changes this by offering a safe, easy-to-use website and app where patients can connect with others who truly understand their journey. Our platform is built with and for patients: every feature has been shaped by people with lived experience and the charities that support them. A key part of Recuperaite is helping people track their symptoms, share their experiences, and learn from others. By bringing together this information (with full patient consent), our technology can spot early warning signs and patterns, sometimes even before a formal diagnosis. This could help shorten the long and difficult wait many people face before getting answers. Recuperaite is the first in the UK to use advanced AI to match patients with the right peer support, tailored information, and, in the future, earlier opportunities for diagnosis and research. We are committed to the highest standards of privacy and safety: users are always in control of their information, and our data tools meet strict NHS and international standards. Accessibility and fairness are central to our mission. Recuperaite is designed for everyone, no matter what language they speak, how tech-savvy they are, or where they come from. All features are co-created and tested with people from diverse backgrounds to ensure no one is left out. With support from the Innovate UK Growth Catalyst grant, Recuperaite will launch its first version, work with up to 250 patients and families to shape and improve the platform, and share our methods openly so that others can learn and benefit. By enabling faster diagnosis and better support, Recuperaite helps reduce avoidable NHS appointments and hospital admissions, making care more efficient for patients and the health system alike.
