However, these tablets have inherent clinical issues, as well as presenting the danger of the patient under or over dosing on the medication. This project aims to bioengineer and optimise a pharmaceutical-releasing implant for the long-term treatment of a chronic illness. The implant will be customisable to the exact dose required by the individual patient, thus offering a more medically advantageous and patient-centric approach to chronic illness management than through daily oral tablets.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
