As a learning and development agency, our accredited courses, workshops and events empower skills, confidence, self-belief and motivation, giving learners equitable opportunities to progress into decent work, further education or business startup. Facilitating inclusive, economic growth, FIRST challenges the status quo by innovating and improving the quality of entry level teaching and learning within enterprise and entrepreneurship.

Last year our work contributed approximately 16 million in social return on investment for the North East economy whilst improving the quality of life for 547 learners in the most under-resourced communities in the UK. Notable projects include Startup Awards North East and level 1 qualifications in enterprise skills.

For this project, FIRST will work alongside leading experts within enterprise skills/the economy to develop a set of indicators which assist in capturing the true economic and social value of enterprise skills and entrepreneurship. Learning resources will then be shared so that cross sector organisations can evidence and monitor their social return on investment for impact relating to entrepreneurship and enterprise skills.

Success will be measured with KPIs associated with company growth, adoption of the new indicators by stakeholders and the change that occurs within education systems as a result.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
