Squirrel is the solution to financial distress that serves to bring down a person's cost of living, increase their ability to save as well as their ability to manage their finances so that they don't struggle from month to month. More importantly, Squirrel aims to nurture financial resilience within the Squirrel community so that people do not have to resort to extortionate credit in the payday loan and overdraft markets that only serve to make matters worse! Squirrel has recently received a number of accolades for its efforts to eradicate financial distress, recently winning the WIRED2014 and Pitch@Palace competitions, as well as being profiled as one of the hottest financial technology firms in Europe as an inductee to the FinTech50 list earlier this year. Additionally, Squirrel accompanied mayor Boris Johnson to the US as part of a mayoral / UKTI mission to showcase London entrepreneurship and explore the potential for deployment and investment across the Atlantic. Squirrel is also a recent alum of the Barclays Techstars Accelerator program, and is currently a proud member of the Wayra UnLtd program, the latter of which focuses on social impact ventures and is funded in part by the Cabinet Office.
