This needs to change. At Recondition our solution is designing fashion with disabled bodies in mind.

We design in an innovative way by creating functional clothes without the expense of style. Designing with a user-centred process, we work alongside our community to create meaningful products. Never before have disabled people been at the centre of how we design everyday fashion, Recondition is listening and responding to their needs in the form of meaningful products. Equal importance is given to both the fashion and the function.

Everyday clothing can have simple adaptions which will allow a much wider audience to have access to them. These changes aren't necessarily more expensive but the needs of people with disabilities just aren't considered in mainstream fashion brands.

Since starting Recondition we have hosted community events in order to engage with people, build our community in person and spread awareness. Hosting community driven events allows us to give back. At these events we share stories from within the disabled community, with the goal of educating and inspiring around the topic of accessibility.

We want to expand this side of Recondition by acquiring an innovative retail and community space which will allow us to host more events and workshops. Spaces which offer more than just the sale of product have been used in high end stores such as Selfridges for decades but our space will offer even more value, a safe space where everyone is welcome.

Reconditions mission is to create a fashion landscape where everyone has the equal opportunity to express themselves, by breaking down the stigma of what it means to be adaptive fashion.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
