Melys AFS Ltd has developed an Atrial Fibrillation (AF)Monitor which has been patented in the US and has FDA approval. AF is the most common arrhythmia seen in clinical practice and increases the risk of stroke. Our desk-top monitor is specifically designed for use by health professionals to screen the population. We now wish to use this technology to develop an App so that patients diagnosed with AF can use a wireless finger sensor coupled with a mobile device to monitor their condition. The use of a finger sensor eliminates the sensitivity to motion which is the disadvantage of using the waveform which is generated by some of the newer smartphones. It also allows the App to be used on most smartphones. We need a specialist in the development of Apps and wireless technology in the medical device area, and who has experience of working with the NHS, to undertake this work for us."</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
