Parents care about adopting more environmentally friendly habits, for the future of the planet their children will inherit. With the rise of fast fashion more clothing is being produced than we can ever consume, which comes at a significant human and environmental cost. Between 2000 and 2015 alone, global clothing production doubled.

In recent years, more consumers are shopping secondhand before buying new and as a result, the global market for secondhand fashion is expected to grow 127% by 2026, to $218 billion worldwide.

However, the time required to find what you need and concerns over quality are barriers to many parents shopping secondhand. There is also the problem of recycling the clothes their children have outgrown - it is estimated that over 183 million items of outgrown baby clothes are stored in homes across the UK.

Shopping secondhand must be as accessible, reliable and affordable for busy parents as buying new from highstreet brands in order to succeed in a market that continues to grow as quickly as its consumers - the UK childrenswear market is expected to be worth £7.3bn by 2027\.

At Thrifthood, it only takes a couple of clicks to order a box online for your own child or as a gift. With our flagship Classic Box, we deliver a curated box of 7-8 excellent quality secondhand items from highstreet brands to the customer's door. Every item included in a Thrifthood box is quality checked and hand picked for the customer based on the styles and clothes they like and the season, size and gender they need. The items are carefully curated in complementary styles and colours to make several complete and interchangeable outfits.

Recycling outgrown clothes with Thrifthood is just as simple. With a few clicks, customers can book a collection of their outgrown items from their door, on the date of their choice. They just need to package up the items. In return, they receive £10 off a Classic Box with our Money Off Scheme.

We are committed to supporting disadvantaged parents in our community as well as ensuring all items we receive go to a good home, instead of ending up in landfill. We donate surplus stock and items such as bibs, blankets and toys to our local baby banks.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
