Fixed cutter drill bits use braze to attach synthetic diamond cutters to the bit body. This braze operation is highly skilled and if performed incorrectly can cause catastrophic failure of the bit.

This project will investigate an alternative method of attaching cutters to the body which can be performed locally to the customer. This will reduce costs (financial and carbon) and enable local high skilled manufacturing.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
