ceramic and glass panels. From our extensive research, it is clear that a significant market
opportunity exists for the coating of large ceramic and glass panels especially in the
architectural sector. This technology will provide the definitive answer for architects and
interior designers of prestige buildings, civic offices, major city centres and hotels both
internally and externally and anywhere where a statement can be made, while supplying
performance and aesthetic characteristics vastly superior to any current technology or
production system.
This innovation in coating technology will provide a permanent high quality finish at
relatively high application speeds with accurate edge to edge registration, each panel
matching the standard with uniform and constant coating appearance.
It is important to emphasise that this project is aimed at the ceramic and glass industries in general, industries that in the UK have suffered a great number of job losses and factory
closures. This project will help to establish new companies and job opportunities in this
sector, while providing a significant potential for increasing export sales. Our research
indicates the market opportunity for this system is in the region of £200 million, with
sustainable benefits for the UK, giving a positive multiplier effect on output and employment
for the economy.
This could be an excellent opportunity for the UK to retrieve some of the lost manufacturing
business in this area and, once again, become an innovative worldwide supplier in the ceramic and glass panel industries, both of which are still growing rapidly.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
