The technicalities of flying Drone Light Shows in UK airspace is complex and is controlled by the UK Civil Aviation Authority as prescribed in Civil Air Publication CAP722E. As new technical art-forms come into being, they can be hampered by regulatory bodies. This project aims to resolve some of the technical issues and drive forward regulatory approvals for a step change in the manner that Drone Light Shows operate. The project deploys new innovative technologies that enables Drone Light Shows to be flown from locations that previously did not permit such flights. We are blending technological innovation with creative industries such that the canvas that is the night sky may be utilised across the UK. Project LightBox enables Electric Airshows to lead the UK and the Drone Light Show in the deployment of immersive Drone Light Show aerial media, allowing both the company and the UK creative industry to thrive in this unique market. By enabling more locations to fly Drone Light Shows and working with the CAA to certify the technology for flight, we are driving the UK forward in this new media performance space.
