Racial bias in AI technologies is a pressing issue that is resulting in negative racialised outcomes. The widespread adoption of AI has led to the inadvertent propagation of racial bias through these technologies, with significant societal implications. While AI has the potential to add trillions of pounds to the global economy, biased AI-driven systems carry substantial reputational risks for organisations and may limit opportunities for growth for AI businesses. It may also erode public trust in AI systems as consumers become more conscious of the negative impacts of bias in AI algorithms.

To address this challenge, Mindweaver is developing the Antiracism-Technology-Framework, a groundbreaking consulting service aimed at embedding proactive antiracism measures in AI development. This framework includes innovative tools for assessing and mitigating bias, reconfiguring AI development processes and diversifying datasets to eradicate racial bias.

By leveraging AI, Mindweaver's framework assists clients in identifying and rectifying potential biases while promoting the integration of antiracist principles into AI development practices. This could generate cost savings and reduce inequitable outcomes for customers by mitigating the risk of biased decisions and avoiding expensive remediation efforts.

The framework is unique in its holistic approach to addressing AI racial bias, integrating AI, data science and antiracism expertise. It supports organisational efforts to address data bias and implement tools to counteract it, benefiting a large majority of organisations striving for ethical, inclusive AI practices. This positions the UK as a leader in ethical and antiracist AI, fostering diverse and inclusive AI teams, creating job opportunities for underrepresented groups in the data science and AI sectors and supporting broader EDI goals.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
