Software is the driving force of the world today (1). We all love our NetFlix, Spotify and other forms of social media, but not everyone is aware that these and other cloud services are adding to global warming due to the huge demand of power for these services. For context, there is approximately 9 trillion devices in use today (1). All these devices require power!

Traditional cloud computing solutions use huge amounts of energy to operate and keep computers cool. This energy is often sourced from non-renewable, carbon intensive sources.

Green Cloud solves this energy problem by utilising computing power from proven renewable sources. We safely allow software developers to use computers powered by solar energy. These developers can use Green Cloud powered computers in the same way they would use normal cloud services making it easier for them to move to Green Cloud.

What is even better about Green Cloud is that we source our processing power from homes running on solar energy. Home owners, who prove to us via a certification process, that they are running computers on renewable energy are able to join Green Cloud. We call these home owners, Green Cloud members.

Once they successfully join, these members are paid for the time that we use their computers.

We realise that not everyone produces energy from Solar so we have designed our system to cope with this. Green Cloud members can drop in and out of the platform as they produce and stop producing power.
