Tackling Policy challenges that others cannot reach: sub-state governments, policy integration and policy mainstreaming

In examining the effort of sub-state actors, particularly devolved Governments in the UK, this research will build on the existing knowledge base regarding policy integration and policy mainstreaming. Through a qualitative investigation and analysis of sub-state government integration and mainstreaming initiatives using multiple data collection methods, the research will critically discuss the varying conceptualisations of mainstreaming and integration, the approaches to implementation used by different governments, and outline sector specific factors that influence integration and mainstreaming processes.
