Abstract

This project will explore the relationship between occupational balance and the role of social capital and social support among PND and non-PND mothers, determined by comparison of occupational quality and categorisation. The study utilises a comparative critical theory mixed methods research study. The quantitative data provides insight into the activity choices or requirements of mothers and categorization helps evaluate the occupational balance maintained. The qualitative data will identify the decisions behind each categorization of occupation and the importance of varying sociological influences, including social capital/socio-economic factors. The study will likely be facilitated via the HealthWise Wales national register.
