Wild Bioscience: An Innovative, non-GMO, Genetically Enhanced Technology to Radically Enhance Wheat Crops for a Secure Future

Lead Participant: WILD BIOSCIENCE LTD

Abstract

Wild Bioscience (Wild) is a synthetic biology SME aiming to radically enhance crop yields, helping to feed an ever-increasing global population and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity loss associated with agricultural expansion. Project outputs generate a game-changing solution within the vastly underserved wheat market; a revolutionary approach vastly undercutting current GMO developmental timelines to help rapidly increase wheat yield output on less land. Wild's novel approach permits farmers to meet/improve crop quotas, allowing them to support wider sustainability practices associated with high intensity farming (soil regeneration/rewilding/greenhouse gas mitigation). Additionally, this project will springboard Wild's R&D development capabilities across various crop types, and enable them to accelerate trait development pipelines in key target crops and trait areas (such as specifically building resilience to climate change).
