ATLAS
Lead Participant:
CNH INDUSTRIAL N.V.
Abstract
ATLAS will facilitate the launch of the World's first liquid fugitive methane powered, UK built, off-highway agricultural tractor.
The tractor will run on fugitive methane captured from agricultural livestock emissions, water treatment and landfill gas enabling a positive environmental impact. This project enables methane to transition from a potent climate damaging pollutant to a net carbon negative resource, encouraging local production and use, so addressing energy independence and security.
This supply-chain enhancing project incorporates novel cryogenic technology from Bennamann (Cornwall), heat energy recovery systems from European Thermodynamics (Leicestershire) and next generation exhaust systems for alternative-fueled ICE applications from Eminox (Lincolnshire).
