Abstract
Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.
Technical Summary
We aim to exploit controlled deposition that we have developed for bionanotechnology and hop to neurophysiology to use this novel method for the controlled nanoscale delivery of neurotransmitters to study synapses in neurons. We will then use single molecule fluorescence to identify the size of fluorophore labelled oligomers of A-Beta peptide and alpha synuclein delivered from the pipette to determine their physiological effect and its dependence on oligomers size and hence provide new insights into neurodegenerative diseases
