Higgs boson measurements using the ATLAS detector at the LHC

Abstract
The thesis project will involve measuring key properties of the Standard Model Higgs boson using the ATLAS detector. The data used will be collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, the highest energy reached by an accelerator. The student will also participate in software development related with the ATLAS trigger system, in addition to participating in crucial detector operations while on Long Term Attachment at CERN.
