Abstract

This project is aimed at reducing the amount of fossil fuel used for space and water heating by use of an innovative new system. The purpose of the system is to capture, control and re-deploy thermal energy from various sources. This system can reduce the amount of liquid hydrocarbon fuels used for auxiliary systems. In addition an innovative HVAC system can be employed to reduce the energy required to operate air conditioning units. This system will provide savings of 75% on the energy required to operate A/C systems (compared with conventional refrigeration cycle units). This system could be retrofitted buildings, and could also be applied to disaster aid camps, building sites, military bases or other locations where fixed energy resources are limited. In addition it would be ideally suited to new build situations, as part of an efficient building programme.
