New biostimulant for global commodity crops

Lead Participant: SUGAROX LIMITED

Abstract

An experimental development project that will allow our UK-based venture to develop an innovative biostimulant to improve the productivity, resilience and sustainability of crop production on the international stage. We are leveraging over 20 years of British-backed research on plant carbon use and allocation, centred around the signalling sugar trehalose-6-phosphate. With a focus on helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the livestock sector, we have chosen to target maize and soybean production in the United States, Brazil and India, which are amongst the main producing countries in the world. Our venture will adopt a B2B model and target customers with established routes to markets to reach farmers in these and other countries. To develop a clear route to market for project outcomes we will be engaging potential customers during our project. If you are a seed, crop nutrition, crop protection or crop biostimulant company, or an independent ag input supplier or large coop of producers, please contact our Business Development Director Bianca Forte ([bianca.forte@sugarox.co.uk][0]) to discuss opportunities to work with us.
