Superior Windings for Alternators and Generators (SWAG)
Lead Participant:
MCLAREN APPLIED TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED
Abstract
McLaren Applied supplies high performance alternator products to the automotive, motorsports and aeronautical industries.
The process for building our alternators is costly and time consuming as it is a labour-intensive process, limiting our product output and scalability.
Our application will support the manufacturing viability for optimising our stator winding process. This will entail an initial build of stators using both manufacturing techniques and detailed analysis via destructive and non-destructive testing to ascertain copper fill, performance and production time variation.
