Abstract
This project focuses on in-house DNA barcoding providing fast authentication in complex food samples. It aims to develop the application of MinION technology for DNA barcoding and monitoring of complex food products in order to identify and semi-quantify the presence of undeclared food ingredients. This portable NGS device, the lab process for rapid DNA barcoding, the libraries of ingredients, and the associated software platform for running the system will allow cheaper and quicker tests at the site of retailers and/or producers.
