Development of Innovative Jigs and Tools - DIJIT
Lead Participant:
AIRBUS OPERATIONS LIMITED
Abstract
The Development of Innovative Jigs and Tools DIJIT project was proposed in order to produce an innovative and novel testing capability at Airbus in Filton. The new capability will ensure that Airbus in Filton becomes the centre of choice for all of Airbus’s future wing related test work. The capability to carry out test up to full scale wing sizes will secure future work for the Structures Test department in Filton and will safeguard jobs. The project will be led by Airbus in the UK and will be supported by partners from the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) and University College London UCL) who will carry out research in the areas of advanced metrology, robotics and multiaxial loading.
