Proof of market for development and manufacture of sensor module family to detect and quantify PM10 PM2.5 and ultrafine particulates and aerosols

Alphasense develops and manufactures gas sensors for industrial safety and environmental air
quality monitoring. Alphasense does not manufacture gas monitoring or air quality systems,
but only sells the sensors/ sensor systems to gas detection manufacturers worldwide. we are
getting a rapidly increasing number of our customers requesting the ability to also monitor
particulates/ aerosols due to diesel engines and similar pollution sources. alphasense has
already commissioned two reports on the technical feasibility of the required sensor systems
to monitor PM10 and PM2.5 particulates.
Before we commit our human and financial resources to this new technology, we must be sure
that tthis is sensible by reviewing:
1 IP ownership by studying relevant patents and considering them in light of our technology
reports
2 Competition and where the competition will be in 3-5 years
3 Market requirements: although customers say they want this, how many do they want?
Finally, a plan must be generated that incorporates the conclusions from the abo
ve reports/ studies.
