Axon Automotive: Affordable Carbon Fibre Crash Structures for Ultra Lightweight Vehicles

This project aims to test the feasibility and prove the concept of a radical new integrated carbon fibre front crash structure using Axon’s patented carbon fibre beam technology, Axontex. Through the innovative approach of co-developing vehicle structures and processes in compliment, the potential exists to provide 55% weight reductions over a typical small car (A segment) components, be economic to produce in low to high volumes, and provide unique front end packaging benefits.
