CREATe Continuity funding (Infrastructure)

Lead Research Organisation: University of Glasgow
Department Name: College of Social Sciences

Abstract

The need for an evidence based legal and regulatory understanding of rapidly evolving digital technologies and industry structures is acute. Science, technology and creative economy policy are intertwined in complex ways on issues such as AI, virtual worlds and platform regulation.

CREATe is an essential source of independent guidance about the role of copyright law and intellectual property law, information law, and competition law for policy makers, creative industry practitioners and the wider UK research ecosystem.

Continuity funding as UK research infrastructure will enable the CREATe Centre to sustain capacity building initiatives, policy submissions and enhance digital resources that have become a global reference point.
