Description | Contacts has been established with the Brazillian laboratories for the exchange of materials and technical know-how that would be very useful for research projects. in addition, a new research proposal involving both UK and Brazillian partners was submitted to BBSRC under BBSRC-FAPESP program for funding in 2017, however it was not successful. |

Description | During the course of this project a workshop on "Viral diseases of animal" was conducted in Instituto Biologica, Sao Paulo which was attended by local farmers, veterinarians, policy makers including authorities from the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (MAPA), Brazil in addition to academicians. Strategies for FMD eradication in south America and the problems encountered during this process was discussed. Suggestions to overcome these problems were made which would be highly helpful for South America. |
