| Description | This award was for an Institutionally led fund to support international partnerships. We delivered this through an open call for small grants to either initiate new partnerships or to strengthen existing partnerships. We funded three partnership initiation projects and seven partnership strengthening projects. Through these partnerships were built with countries in Europe (France, the Netherlands and Switzerland) as well as the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. These awards created opportunities for international skill sharing and all provided opportunities for students and early career researchers from both Cardiff and their partners to learn form each other and create new approaches. For a relatively small investment, this seems to have been a very successful programme and we will continue to follow up to see how these partnerships grow. |
| Exploitation Route | Consideration of the value of giving small flexible awards for people to be able to take the initiative to drive forward their early ideas and connect separate domains of expertise. |
