Description Through research funded on this grant, the computational modelling of soot formation in flames and internal combustion engines has been advanced to an unprecedented level of detail.
Exploitation Route The new models developed provide a wealth of opportunities for further academic study, as well as economic opportunities in the car industry, for example through consultancy projects.
Sectors Energy,Environment,Transport

Description Developments in the area of soot modelling in this project which have been published have subsequently been used by a spin-out company to improve their software, and this has since been utilised in consultancy projects with car manufacturers.
